UCLU represents all students at UCL, as well as providing social activities and welfare services.
Representation
The principal function of the Union is to represent the needs of all UCL students at a college, local and national level. Sabbatical and Executive Officers are elected by UCL students to run the Union and make decisions about it's strategic direction.
Help and advice
UCLU is here to help UCL students with any difficulties they may experience whilst studying. Our Rights and Advice Centre can offer support and assistance for a wide range of issues such as financial support, visas and immigration, sexual and mental health and many more.
Jobs and Skills
JobShop is UCLU's free jobshop exclusively for UCL students: helping them find part-time, short term and vacation work. Our dedicated Volunteering Services Unit runs a number of projects that UCL students can get involved in, from one-off sessions to ongoing schemes, which helps develop skills and give something back to the local community.
Social life
UCLU has a number of venues across campus, including five cafes, four bars and two shops. UCLU also organises a number of club nights at nearby venues. In addition, UCLU has over 150 clubs and societies, which are a great way for UCL students to socialise whilst developing a skill or interest. Each year around 8,000 of our students choose to become a member of one or more of our clubs or societies.
Facilities
UCLU runs a number of facilities dedicated to sports and fitness, including Bloomsbury Fitness - the Union’s gym; the UCL Sports Ground; Somers Town Community Sports Centre; and Astor College Sports Hall. These venues are used by students and clubs and societies for keeping fit, matches and rehearsal space.
